Professional Biography:

Dr Eddy Malese is a dynamic and innovative leader in the field of Mining, Engineering, Renewable Energy Solutions and Pharmaceutical, known for his astrategic vision and commitment to excellence.

With over 15 years of experience, Eddy has established a distinguished career characterized by transformative leadership, project management, and a deep passion for advancing the resource and energy sectors.
Eddy holds a Doctorate in Philosophy, a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Business & Marketing Management qualification.

Currently, He serves as the Group CEO at GLa Group and CEO of The Rob Rockefeller Standard Carbon and President of Africa where he is responsible for providing overall direction and leadership in the company.

Eddy is recognized for his ability to foster collaboration and drive results in fast-paced environments. His leadership style emphasizes empowerment and innovation, ensuring that teams feel valued and motivated to achieve their best work.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Eddy is actively involved in corporate social responsibility programs and giving back through various non- profit organisations.

Advocate Jim Matemane

Professional Biography:

Advocate Jim Matemane holds a B.Proc (University of the North), LLB (Wits), LLM – Company Law and Intellectual Property Law (Wits) and LLM – Communications Law (Wits). He is a senior director at MHA with over 20 years’ post admission experience in various aspects of law including, corporate commercial law, in general.

Jim has extensive experience in various of regulatory law and commercial law aspects including, but not limited to, oil and gas, energy law (electricity and IPPs), mining, mergers and acquisitions, competition law, ports law, public private partnerships, communications law and commercial property law. He worked for the Land and Agricultural Policy Centre from May 1996 to June 1997 as a researcher. The work focused on research on policy, land tenure, land restitution, redistribution and drafting all the relevant land reform legislation and regulations.

Jim also worked at the Centre for Applied Legal Studies (Wits) as a researcher, focusing on land restitution and redistribution. He worked in Parliament during 1998 and 1999 as a senior researcher. During his employment in Parliament, Jim initiated, drafted, participated in public consultations, carried extensive research including on international approaches and/or best practice, discussed, prepared reports on, advised the Portfolio Committees on, and the passing of over fifty pieces of legislation.
